The Accommodation

Ortigia

A lovely little island in Syracuse (connected by a bridge). It is about 40 minutes from the venue and has accommodation options at all levels. It is the nicest town in the area and is the 1st stop the transfers will depart from.

Mangia’s Brucoli Sicily

A very pleasant 5 star beach resort that is only about 15 minutes from the venue. This is perhaps the better option for those with kids (it has a kids club). The transfers will swing past this hotel on the way to and from the venue. We have a special rate if you book with code XX.

Other

There are absolutely tonnes of hotels, Airbnb’s etc in the surrounding areas. booking.com or similar websites are probably your best bet to find options.

N.B If you choose this option you will have to make your own way to and from the venue.

The Travel

Getting to Sicily

The best airport to fly to is Catania (CTA). There are several flights a day from the UK. It is close to the venue.

You can also fly into Palermo, however this is a 3 hour drive from the venue area.

If you are planning to stay in Sicily before or after the wedding, you will definitely benefit from having a car.

Getting to the venue

We have organised bus transfers from both Ortigia & Brucolis Mangia Hotel (see schedule). The bus pick up location in Ortigia is the Parcheggio Molo Sant’Antonio (maps link here). At Mangis Brucoli it will be outside the lobby/the car park.

Please note that the pick up in Ortigia is a 15-20 min walk from the centre of Ortigia due to the small roads on the island. You can walk there, or easily order an Uber from your hotel. Do not be late as the bus leaves at 3PM sharp.

If you’d prefer to get a taxi to the venue then you can order an Uber or use the numbers below.

The Questions

What’s the dress code?

Sunday 6th June - Formal (no morning suits).
Monday 7th June - Smart/casual (+ bring your swimsuits!).

Are children welcome?

Sunday 6th June - Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate children (except babes in arms).
Monday 7th June - Babies and children are welcome. We will likely have some entertainment for kids.

What will the weather be like?

Early June in Sicily is usually very warm and sunny. We recommend lightweight suits and dresses.

Will there be shade?

Plenty. Including at the ceremony.

Can I take photos?

Please refrain from taking any photos or videos during the ceremony, we have photographers. Rest of the time, go for it.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

Absolutely - please include any dietary requirements when submitting your RSVP.

Can we swim?

Yes - there will be access to the pool on Monday at the garden party, so bring swimwear and towels.
